I’ve recently been working on a computationally intensive problem and have turned to high-parallelism and heterogeneous computing as a potential solution. So far I’m researching OpenCL to see what solutions it might allow me to create. Amazon offer a machine with a powerful Nvidia graphics card, granting a large number of CUDA cores on which to run processes in parallel. It’s an interesting look into one of the possible futures of computing.
I hope to be able to blog about my learning in this area but it will depend upon how much time I get between my family life and my job. I’d like to record a video series building up from first steps to full implementation. I’ll try to note as much information along the journey as I can and share whenever I’m able.
