I managed to take a short vacation this weekend for the first time in a long while. As part of the transition between working at Compli and SoftSource, I was able to arrange a 4-day long weekend. Woohoo! At first I didn’t think that four days off would make that big of a difference but I have to admit that I was completely wrong. Meaghan and I unplugged quite a bit and took some time together to just relax and enjoy time off. I read for fun instead of to learn, enjoyed the lovely weather on a couple of walks, started a watercolor painting, and watched a few episodes of TV shows we both enjoy. We spent one night at the pub just drinking and talking, then took the party home and had fun listening to music and dancing together. A mild hangover ensued the following morning but it didn’t interfere with the relaxing Sunday we had planned. We didn’t really achieve a heck of a lot in our time off but it was really nice to just let go and relax for a while. It did me a world of good.
While I was filling out my introductory paperwork yesterday, it was pointed out that another 3-day weekend is coming a week from Friday. I’m really looking forward to it!
