A good night’s sleep

For whatever reason at around 8:00pm last night I suddenly felt the need to go upstairs and lie down.  Meaghan and I had recently finished dinner and had just finished discussing what we might like to do with the rest of our evening.  Suddenly feeling tired I thought I’d just take a few minutes to nap and then get up and perhaps play a board game or join Meaghan in the study to read for a while.  However, the next thing I remember was looking up at the ceiling (we have a clock that projects the time onto the ceiling) and finding that it read 9:45pm.  Meaghs suggested that I brush my teeth and get into bed properly and I was about to protest when I realized I felt completely exhausted.  Stumbling through the night-time routine I then proceeded to sleep solidly through until 8:00am this morning.  That’s probably one of the best night’s sleep I have had for a very long time and I woke up this morning feeling quite refreshed.  I guess sometimes the body just decides that it is time to sleep and simply will not be argued with.  Thanks to Meaghan for feeding the cats and turning off the lights while I simply slumbered away upstairs. :)
